253, 254, 255/36

Another first.

Amelie doing her very first set of homework. They're all learning their Jolly Phonics. It really has helped her to understand letters more and how to find them in words. It's great that she enjoys coming home and making sure she's done it for her teacher the next day.

She told me.
'I love you Mummy and I love being in reception.'
She is very unlike me as a child. I was scared and shy. I remember school being big and scary and nobody really understood me (still speaking French).
Amelie is brave, ambitious, clever and eager to learn.

Lets just hope it stays that way through all her school life.

Arthur has been a funny ole fellow today. He woke up happy and chirpy then went for an early nap. Then he woke up all grumpy, still very tired and pale. Poor little man, I was sure he was going to be sick but it never happened.
He's gone to stay at Mammars for a few nights. To be honest it feels horrible and like I'm missing a limb. But that's when I know he has to go. We love our children and we want to be there for them and for them to want us. But I personally don't think it's healthy for them to be too clingy. He's always been a bit of a Mummy's boy. But I want him to enjoy his grandparents and not to feel sad when he leaves me, but to be excited for his big adventure.
When I was a child I HATED staying out. I cried for my mother all the time. It wasn't until I reached High School that I realised how much fun it was.

Luckily I have some willing family and friends to take my children for sleepovers!

Sleepovers are good for parents to get that head space of no children too. I did my usual dog walking and went through a field, which I wouldn't have been able to do with Arthur in his pram. I didn't know I was going through this field, I just found it and off I went. I only had my phone with me and thought Rocky was hilarious running through all the tall grass. Can't believe I managed to get this one of him mid flight.
